Phoenix rise from the ashes to defeat the Demons.

Game vs. Black Widows 1/15/11 5:15pm at Twin Ponds East

Demons snare Black Widows in their own web !

Saturday, January 15th
In what can only be described as the best hockey the Demons have played in quite some time (and they regularly play GOOD hockey) the girls traveled to Harrisburg and beat the Black Widows by a score of 6-1.  With the loss of goaltender Nikki Kuiper due to illness and no other goaltenders available to play, forward Jackie Grimes strapped on the pads and got between the pipes, stopping all but one shot.  The Demons rallied around Grimes and only allowed 10 shots on net.  Goals were scored by Nancy Allen (1),  Kate Connolly (2), Carolyn Kaschak (2) and Cassandra Pugh (1) with assists by Kate Connolly (3), Emily Litchendorf (3), Kate Decker (1) Jess Finkowski (1) and Jess Waldron (2).  Congrats to both Kate and Emily for earning "playmaker" awards, and special thanks to Jackie Grimes for filling in for Nikki !  The entire team should be extremely proud for putting in a %110 effort !

Predators Become The Prey After Facing Our Demons !

Saturday, March  5
During the week, one of the girls commented that "Demons vs. Predators" sounded like a good title to the sequel of the movie "Aliens vs. Predator"-it must have been an omen, as the battle fought on the ice was as intense as those in the movie!  Jackie Grimes opened up the scoring in the first (assisted by Emily Litchendorf and Rainie Whitman) followed up shortly with a goal from Jess Finkowski (assisted by Jess Waldron).  The Predators would get one back in the secoond, but Emily Litchendorf regained the 2 goal lead with an assist by Jess Waldron.  The Preds struck twice in the third ,making it a tie game, until Jess Waldron scored the game winning goal.  Congrats to the team on a hard fought victory!
